The last iterations of the BCS computations did factor in human polls, so I'm not sure why we need a human committee.

Because the committee is better than the poll. The AP was not used in the later BCS rankings, they created the Harris poll which was just some retired journalists, coaches, TV people. The committee are professionals that meet and watch the games. I really don’t why people get so up in arms about it, like it would be significantly different if it was the BCS

ETA The NCAA has nothing to do with the playoff or BCS
