How Clemson's DB's Picked Off Tua Last Year and Stopped the Quick Slant - - Eyes on Tua

Clemson's DB's switched their eyes to Tua in Man-Coverage (the instant the ball was snapped).

Normally, Clemson's DB's would fix their eyes on the WR's belly - right below the WRs numbers, in press-man coverage. But the Clemson DBs faked out Tua by pretending to fix their eyes on the WRs - but fixed their eyes on Tua the instant after the ball was snapped.

But basically, Clemson took away the ultra-quick slant by switching eyes to Tua at the instant of the snap, in man-coverage.

Yes, very okay. Took away Tua's bread-and-butter play.

Just curious. How did you come to this conclusion?

A couple analysts brought it up right after the game - didn't get a lot of press, but some

So just looking at Tua takes away the slant?

Tua's coaches realized that in press man, Tua could get the ball to the receiver in a quick slant (or out) easily when the DBs had eyes on WR.

If you don't relate to "Eyes on WR" in press man, this observation won't make much sense to you - but many people do understand "Eyes on WR" in press man

Buckeye Joe knows more about football than you, just accept it. If you question him, call him stupid, or don't agree with him, then you just simply don't understand football.

I think it would be a mistake to assume that the stuff that worked against Bama in January will work against them in November.

Aranda has a better idea. He's gonna get the 2 flasher chicks from the World Series and have them distract Tua with their titties every time the ball is snapped.

I'm pretty sure Aranda watched it thrice that night and thrice more the day after

Might just have it on a loop in his living room

Tua has thrown the quick slant (and quick out) against press man all this season.

And if LSU DBs cross him up like Clemson did, he'll get picked (or his timing will be trashed) this Saturday

Whatever. As long as Saban is doing this during the game I'm happy:

Some people just need to be a dick in order to feel better about themselves. Disregard them. You do you.
