Gentry mentioned they made the guys relax the perimeter pressure some, which seemed to stop guys from getting into the paint so easily.

Wouldn't less perimeter pressure make it easier to get into the paint?

No, it’s harder for you to get by me if I’m a step or two away from you as I can move and react to what you are doing. It’s also easier for you to shoot a deep shot so you’re less likely to try to drive by me anyway.

Not if you're not directly on your opponent like a cornerback. When you ease up on that pressure you should be able to defend.

In an ideal scenario, You're better able to move when you're not pressed on them. Should result in less fouls as well.

Ball also said this helped alot

Guys seemed to be communicating alot more on defense also, very rarely did they allow an open shot
