The transfer portal has changed nothing other than you know it’s public now. Why do people keep saying this

The transfer portal changed things. I hear they have lots of 50” sony’s In the portal to watch and free Popeyes chicken sandwiches.

If you can’t find a good qb in the portal, you’re not looking. It’s the place now.

I'll touch on both subjects in this thread.

I'm not a big fan of taking 2 qbs in a class but some years, such as this one, it's necessary. First we will only have 2 qbs returning neither we really know a ton about. Sure Brennan is essentially a shoo in starter but what if he's just not good? That leads us to reason #2s, what do we know of Parrish? The staff sees him every day and they want 2 qbs. Tells me Parrish is a sure thing to be ready or good enough. Reason 3 is that most schools have 4 minimum on the roster. Having 2 more instead of one gives us better odds of 1 or them being good enough.

As for the portal and it's changing of the landscape. It's changed for 2 reasons. Many more kids are transferring now(could debate for days why) and 99% of those kids get granted immediate eligibility now. Sure kids transferred before but very, very few were granted immediate eligibility.
Use Bru McCoy for an example. Kid signed with USC on signing day. A month later transferred to Texas and was on track to be immediately eligible. Then he transfers back to USC, and while not eligible, the case is/was still being considered for immediately eligibility. That's ridiculous but yet the landscape we have now like it or not. The portal essentially began college free agency.
