I lift pretty heavy and I don't think I've ever broken a sweat while lifting.

I used to be like that, but I was also only doing small rep sets with limited volume. I've recently started doing a program that incorporates a lot more volume, while still working around 75-80% of my 1RM, and I am sweating more than ever.
