The article was pointing out that having the condition is not a crime any more than someone who thinks about murder a lot is not a murderer. They may be a psychopath but they have not committed a crime. It is a mental illness and acting on it is a crime. I'd rather the issue be out in the open and have resources for these individuals to get help than keep it in the dark where their deviant instincts are allowed to fester until they act on them. Is that normalizing by your definition?

I guess to me, it even being a possibility, and it being a thing that people think disturbs me. In my head, I think, "how could you even think about doing that?" So yes, to a certain extent, it being so out there is normalizing it.
The equally disturbing this is the Vice piece on the child drag queens. That is no doubt, 100% sexualizing children.
