No doubt. I thought it should have been 8 from the beginning. Some will say it'll work itself out during the season, but even some of the best college football teams have 1 loss at the end of the year. 4 teams only is ridiculous, especially considering if all P5 conferences had an undefeated champion, you couldn't even put them all in. That's unlikely, but it very well could happen to where we have all p5 conferences with champions that are undefeated or with 1 loss. Then, what do you do? Sure, as it sits now, with the pac12 being so weak, you could keep them out, but if their champ is undefeated why should they be kept out? I think 8 is the perfect number for major college football playoffs.

That would take 3 playoff game wins to win a national championship. To make that happen conferences would likely have to drop their championship game. It would be a pain in the arse to reformat the conference scheduling wise and it would be a major loss of money in advertising dollars for the SEC based on the ratings they bring in airing the championship game. There's a lot more to think about than just switching it to 8 teams.
