Trains can be different. But I've done a few overnighters in various private cabins. I always slept fine. Typically in twin-sized bunk beds. It's just as smooth as any other train. It'll stop throughout the night and that can wake you up. Have a few drinks before bed, and you'll sleep just fine.
It's interesting to fall asleep in one country and wake up in another. I think it's a great way to get from one place to another without wasting valuable daytime adventure time.
You could travel during the day and stay in a hotel, or you could travel and sleep at the same time while experiencing something new.
