And again, HUGE Mondo fan here. The first time I heard about him early on, the recognition was instant because I was friends with his uncle in middle school and knew of Mondo’s dad’s exploits in high school and beyond. So from the first time I heard about Mondo, I’ve followed his accomplishments, told my kids about him, etc. Big fan, and I’m not trashing him - I’ll just be cheering a little harder for those who made the apparent sacrifices to make the American team. I’ll be happy for Mondo and his family if he wins gold - I’d just be a little happier if he was doing it for his actual home country.
