For answering a question he was asked?

He specifically said it doesn't make him angry, just disappointed. He also said it's disrespectful, not offensive.

But definitely react to the headline, not the content. You want to make sure to be as ill-informed as possible.

"I think it's a misrepresentation of the Cherokee people or Native Americans in general," Helsley said before the Braves' 3-0 victory in Friday's Game 2.

"Just depicts them in this kind of caveman-type people way who aren't intellectual. They are a lot more than that. It's not me being offended by the whole mascot thing. It's not. It's about the misconception of us, the Native Americans, and how we're perceived in that way, or used as mascots. The [Washington] Redskins and stuff like that."

No one thinks people of Cherokee decent in 2019 are sitting around in loincloths and feather headdresses chopping tomahawks while chanting to a drumbeat. This guy is looking way too deep in to a sports tradition that has no underlying meaning whatsoever of disrespecting Cherokee Indians.

Our society has apparently lost the ability to view matters within CONTEXT. If a bunch of drunk assholes were sitting around an indian reservation ceremony doing the chop that's one thing. But doing it in a lighthearted manner at a baseball game is quite another.

And the context is that this thread is either made up of Braves fans who are going to take anything said about them personally (which is fine, that's part of fandom) or people who will over-react to any mention of a perceived "SJW" topic (which is moronic).

But still, this guy wasn't running around looking for people to tell this to. He answered questions he was asked.
