Of all the places a French tourist could go they chose to go to Mississippi...

Europeans are fascinated by the Southern Plantation and antebellum culture in the US.
They also love Blues and Jazz Music. So on a month long vacation they will go see the normal American spots from Hollywood to NYC, but plenty also make their way to places along the Mississippi like Memphis(Graceland) and Natchez(shite ton of Plantations/Antebellum Homes) en route to New Orleans.

We saw this kind of tourist a LOT when I lived in Natchez.

My office is near Graceland. I speak to people from all over the world from time to time at the Popeye's on Brooks Rd A ton of them are then heading down Hwy 61 for the blues trail after Graceland
