I'll listen but I'm not expecting much.
True Sadness wasn't very good and the continuation of awful singles (beginning with the similarly cringeworthy "aint no man") doesn't inspire hope.
I honestly don't care much about political music, but my problem is for many modern acts in these genres, as albums grow in protest and politics, they become objectively shittier. See: Head and the Heart, Jason Isbell, and perhaps Avett Brothers.
It's almost like these groups write really compelling music while searching for success and sorting out their lives, then they achieve it, feel compelled to write "meaningful" music beyond their personal melancholy, and it just...sucks.
