Ok guys for the first time in a while I'm getting back into the trail camera game. Going up to my club this weekend and need to check a couple cards on some cameras that aren't cellular.
I have a Macbook laptop that I can't figure out the best app to use to read the card, and I have a Moultrie adapter for my phone which I have no faith in it working after using a few times. What is the best way to view the pictures on the cards?
Bring my macbook and use a certain app? Buy an external device to read? Those who have gone down this road which is likely all of you what is the easiest best way to view the photos? TIA

I have the actual apple card reader. Plugs into the charging port on my phone and you can import and save which ones you want. Way better than anything else I’ve ever used.
As soon as you plug it into the phone/MacBook, a notification pops up asking if you want to import. No apps needed.

I have the same Apple reader. It’s quick any easy but this past weekend. Nothing pops up when I put the card in. Could be bad cards.

You don't need any sort of app to import files from an sd card with a Mac. Just use the finder to view or import files on the remote disk. No reason to download anything.
How many cameras do you have? I don't even bother with viewing the cards in the woods anymore. SD cards are so cheap now that I just keep two for each camera and swap them out.

That’s my idea as well. I haven’t checked cards in a month so I’m expecting a lot of pictures. My problem with the Mac is it automatically opens iPhoto and I have to export to view well I don’t want to export 2000 photos just view first and then save the ones I want. I can do that through finder?

Make sure your SD card isn’t in the lock position. There’s a little tab that slides up and down on the side of the card itself.

It’s not that. I did some searching and saw a lot of topics about the Apple as card readers quits working after a software update. Plug into the iPad and it works perfectly fine, just not on the iPhone.

No sir they both go in the same slot, one in front the other. My s5, s7, and current galaxy 10 all have had the sim/sd card slot
