Figured this would the board to ask. Seems like something that’s be cool to do but curious how artistic you actually have to be.

Like, paint really small pictures, or painting table top miniatures?

I guess painting table top minstures....

Like the table top aspect doesn’t interest me. But I’ve been browsing miniature figurines that have been painted and they’re really cool.

I got into the warhammer tabletop game for like 6 months. Painted about 20 or so units before I realized that 1) I sucked at painting and 2) I didn’t know anyone else into it so I figured it was pointless to dive in further.

To be honest, the base units really don’t need much skill nor time to do. But the hero units or bigger, non base level units are probably much harder to make look halfway decent.

Tbh if I were to get back into it, I’d probably go with historical miniatures over fantasy.

Yeah, those look really cool too.

Just curious, I live in a small apartment. How much room do you need for this/how messy is it.

How skilled do you have to be?

I mean, they are called miniatures. You shouldn’t need much space, a small desk or table. Some newspaper to keep paint off shite.A place outside to spray paint the base paint on.

Just go to a local game store and buy a small unit set and some paint and see if you like it

Do you have disgusting hygiene and a mustacheless beard?

If so, miniature painting could for you.

We didn't seek out a painter for our dog.

It is an Easter gift to the GF from her aunt.

Okay - I have essentially zero natural artistic talent or even training. I painted a few as a kid and couple turned out pretty good. Having the right tools and halfway decent vision (or, a good magnifying light) are probably the biggest keys.

Today, with YouTube, the sky is the limit.
