I know, but if conservatives would actually admit these things (they are true of uneducated, rural whites as well), people of color wouldn’t flock to the only party that acknowledges their history. Then we could have a conversation about really creating opportunity for all- via things like safe, green spaces and quality schools- not reparations and quotas. Can’t we all admit Baton Rouge would be better off in the long run if we built recreational facilities (included many for children only) throughout North BR and stationed cops there. What if states built safe bike trails around rural Appalachia? Liberals would flock there, and things like pinkberry Starbucks, etc. would follow.

You mean the party most responsible for their history?

Like Greenwood and City Park....and the gazillion other BREC parks. Not sure about stationing cops there. Sounds like a waste of resources.

There is nothing to admit. No one is this country is oppressed.

We already have equal opportunity for all. You are not promised equal outcome. Your outcome is directly related to what you do with your opportunity.

No, we can't. You can never say that if you had done X all those years ago then you would definitely have had Y outcome.

Trails etc. in and of themselves are completely innocuous. No matter how safe the bike trail, the community center, or the neighborhood park are when built, you can not control who enters and exits in perpetuity any more than you can control the changing demographics of neighborhoods over time.

Tell the chick in your class to frick off.

And can't we all admit there's a problem with a community itself, not the effect of systemic racism or whatever bs reason people can come up with when you have to station cops at parks?

I don’t agree. North Baton Rouge has vastly superior parks, sidewalks, drainage, road grid, public transportation, libraries, etc when compared to the affluent areas on the south side of the city. The reason North Baton Rouge is undesirable is due to crime and only crime.

ETA:

There’s a couple neighborhoods near Exxon and north of the airport that are undesirable due to the smells coming from the Refinery, Chemical Plants, PaperbMill, and Landfills, but that is not the case for the vast majority of North BR that doesn’t stink.
