How many points did we score?
It doesn't matter how many point we scored. It was almost guaranteed we would score at least 40+ points and get the win against Northwestern St. Its about getting better each week. Recognizing and fixing issues before they really become a problem later in the season against better competition. Not being complacent with just getting the "W".

And 4 TDs. How many first downs or TDs did we get with those carries? Might tell a better story

For Christ sakes ! For years you people have been complaining about the stagnant offense . Now we put up 60 points a game and we are still complaining. More passing = less running . Now maybe as Emory and davis-price get more comfortable we will see some homeruns later in the season .

Would you rather the Les miles offense where we run for 200 and pass for 100?

Ground game is bullshite but according to the rant it’s no big deal
People say that shot now but they better be able to run and have balance come SEC play.

How many of those carries came at the goal line?
Posted on 9/15/19 at 6:53 pm to olgoi khorkhoi
I’m more concerned about us needing 3-5 yards at goal line to score a TD vs FG when SEC play starts. Our running game will be plenty good enough because of need to respect the pass. A good stat would be Avg ypc when outside the 10 yard line. We seemed to have a lot of not good runs near goal line. Should be able to punch it in at will vs inferior teams.

Play. The. Freshman.
Posted on 9/15/19 at 6:59 pm to LouisianaLonghorn
I agree that the 2 freshman RB need to get more touches.
They cant pass block? Who cares if its a Run play.
CEH is not an SEC caliber starter, PERIOD.
However, if our WR continue to light it up it may force the DB's to back off.
Do you think that may or may not open up oppurtunities for any sweeps/bubble screens to strech em out horizontal as well as vertical?

Dude we are finally getting our playmakers in space and you are complaining! Notice we didn’t throw Any screens to the backs last night. There is a reason. We don’t need to show that because it is our new running game. Damn guess the toss dive was your best and most favorite play right?

Not complaining, thinking ab further expansion.
In case u missed it, there are subtle differences between a Joe Brady offense & LSU offenses in the past. And we obviously have serious deficiencies in the run game.
HOW CAN WE CIRCUMVENT THAT?
Ya think we gonna win the west on the back of 3.5 ypc RB's? Cuz Burrow aint gonna throw for 350 EVERY game.
Its called "critical thinking"

Davis needs more carries.

The problem with "Miles" offense wasn't that they ran as much as they did. The problem was they ran but could not pass when they needed to.
So what good does it do to flip a script and pass but not be able to run when you need to?
Its great to finally see a potent passing game. I for one am basking in the afterglow..
But anyone would be foolish to think that a program that aspires to contending for championships will do so without a good running game.

nevermind the fact that we had 6 rushing touchdowns and the majority of the carries came inside the 10
These people that say these things have no understanding of that concept. They see the final stat line and figure, "oh, our running game only avg. 3 yards a carry, that's not good!" The fact a player had 3 carries on the goal line doesn't compute. IDK why, it just doesn't.

There are lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics...paraphrasing Mark Twain.
So a half dozen one yard rushes from the one means we suck because we only averaged one yard per carry on those 6 TDs
excluding run plays where the ball was snapped inside the 5 (6 plays), LSU backs ran 20 times for 70 yards. A 3.5 ypc average against a bad FCS team.
The offensive line is not good at run blocking. This is a fact, not an opinion.
