For those of you that did not read the articles on eye dominance and receiver training you are missing out. Some really great things are happening that have moved the Tigers foward and will keep this program at the top. Optimizing performance based on inherit traits and strengths through data collection sounds boring but it is truly fascinating.

After reading the article, it made me wonder where else the eye dominance based strengths could be optimized. Defensive backs? edge rushers? OLB's? I wonder if they have worked with those units. I wonder if there are other optimized or focused training techniques being used outside of the receivers we have not heard about yet.
It is an exciting time in sports and specifically LSU football!

Great article...thanks for posting it. I was struck by this quote from Jack Marucci:
I've always thought Coach O had many strengths (e.g. recruiting), but I've never thought of him as someone who would embrace innovation to the extent that Marucci claims. Interesting to know that....
quote:
“I’ve been around a lot of coaches, and a lot of good ones,” he says. “Coach O is the most innovative, the most progressive, and he allows us to do so many things, and he takes input. It makes everybody excited to be around, and it allows you to keep growing and develop new ideas.”

It is so refreshing to see the defense be able to develop athletes. That was one of the biggest issues from 2009 to 2014.

I don't know but it is possible it is something Coach O has grown into...

Could definitely be used in baseball.

receiver training
All they needed was half a million jugs machine reps. This scientific bullshite be damned.

If that is what you got out of those articles you missed the multiple points.

If other teams aren't currently using the training technique they soon will.

I think it was shown that left handed hitters that were right eye dominant were much more successful. The eye closest to the pitcher followed the ball better.
While coaching little league we used to show the kids how to test which eye was dominant.

It was a jab at Buckeye Jeaux. Lighten up, Francis.
