that seems like suicide for 2 reasons

1. black turnout is significantly decreased in runoffs

2. the GOP has an identity crisis with 2 very blah guys with even more blah personalities who don't relate to SLA. if JBE is going to win, it needs to be when the GOP is divided and don't have a real identifying, unifying vision

Yep. I think it is all about the general election.

It’s obvious to me that the Dem strategy is to downplay the first primary and to keep interest low and turnout low in hopes the Dem machine can turnout their vote

I would have thought GumboPAC would be in on the Dem strategy. They are unloading on both GOP candidates, hell, they might be talking more about the GOP candidates than the candidates are talking about themselves! (at least until recently)

If the Feds ever come asking for their fraudulently spent dollars we are screwed.

This is a very good statement.

Look, I like math. I don't like government control. I care more about state government than federal government.

If the state can pay for 10 percent of costs under expanded medicaid, or 36 percent of costs under the "old system" of reimbursed care, I'll take the 10 percent all day, with a provision.

That provision is that the expanded program has to be run correctly, with strong controls to prevent waste and fraud.

The LA politicos might not care about waste and fraud of federal money, but I'm pretty sure the feds do indeed care.

Rather than jump up and down about medicaid expansion, I'd like to see Rispone / Abraham promote the idea that under their leadership, jobs will grow, good jobs, the kind of jobs that come with benefits and allow people to get off of Medicaid.

Make the message, "Medicaid is here if you need it, we are going to do our best to make damn sure you don't need it".

As BigJim previously noted, the advocate, the de-facto press shop for JBE, didn't cover this and will never post an article about it until they can figure out a way to slant it in Edwards favor. Hell, they posted a bunch of articles about the two genders ad from Ralph but has said nothing about this so far.

Another anecdotal example is in this very thread with a poster saying he's never seen Abraham's face before and that's just a tad not believable considering that Ralph has ads running on TV for a while now.

And for the record, I'm voting for Rispone but really first and foremost, I'm anyone but Edwards and will have no problem voting for either one of these two guys in a runoff.
