That's the way I've been reading it too. I think he felt he was doing what it takes to rid the streets but crossed the line aplenty. And this is the part that wouldn't surprise me one bit. I think he felt he was doing the right thing but when you play with fire(questionable ethics), you eventually get burned.

That's how I see it. He was playing a dirty game and you have to get mud under your nails to play it. He just got to much and it's not washing off. But my impression is not that he was felt he was doing the right thing all the time but that he got cocky and felt untouchable.

Again, from what the papers has framed for us.

Every situation I have been close to that made the paper or even official police reports has not been close to accurate. So, I have to think that this is similar, based off of my experiences, which again, i have none about this case.
