RFK wanted to get AIPAC to register as foreign agents, and he was so pro-Israel by the standards of the 1960s that he got assasinated for it.
Today, no politician would dare suggest that AIPAC should have to register as foreign agents.

I'm not sure that was the reason for his offing, but certain folks surely weren't happy about his stance. Nor were they fans of his opposition to Israel becoming a nuclear power.
Luckily we have evolved beyond such prejudices.
