The problem is that it's inciting two political ideologies against each other in times of a very heated political clime.
So what, if the liberals are bad guys and the "deplorables" are good guys?
What little was released of the trailer shows maybe two "main villains". The "deplorables" have apparently one "hero", who probably survives along with maybe one or two of the other 12 conservatives that are abducted to be hunted.
That means probably 95 minutes watching likely ten of the 12 conservatives hunted down and killed like dogs, before the one or two bad guys get their comeuppance at the very end. Very lopsided ratio there.
Does that make sense? It may have been a decent plot for the movie if they hadn't so obviously and blatantly made it about liberal elites versus deplorable conservatives. I mean, the original title was going to be "Red State versus Blue State" FFS.
If there's any actual desire to try anything to bring people back together in this country, this movie wouldn't help. Hollywood isn't trying to help, either. They have an agenda to push. Ask Johnny Depp or Robert Dinero or SL Jackson candidly, if they'd take up an offer to hunt and kill "redneck conservatives" if they had the chance... you know they would.
FTR, I think this movie will inevitably be released eventually. Might not even be too bad if actually taken as satire. But the very real threat will exist that seeing "deplorables" hunted, tortured and brutally murdered on screen could motivate a segment of the increasingly violent left to attempt real life killings of conservatives.
I don't know. Downvote away. But I think the movie is a bad idea.
