He did get beat up in that game, but still impressive to see a freshman get on the field in the middle of the defense.

What happened to Baskerville?
I heard he can play outside linebacker too ... maybe next year we could keep 4 linebackers on the field ...Cherry, Clark ,Mccallum , and Baskerville

He's put on enough weight to play on the line. Which is what I was hoping for. His class was a little weak there with Hines and Rosenthal moving to oline.

Don't see how he breaks out unless someone gets hurt. Might flash though.

Don't forget all the targeting calls we had at LB last year. Need all the depth we can get!

Have you seen a picture of Cherry? He’s 280 lbs but he’s bigger than Fehoko. No way you see him at LB he is a DE now all the way and glad to have him there. If Phillips and Divinity aren’t your starting ILBs then something went wrong. Both guys are supremely talented and have more experience than anyone else at the position. Queen would start on any other defense in the country but for now he’s the 3rd man. Next year I expect Queen to be given the keys to the defense like Divinity was this year and will have Damone Clark starting next to him at Phillips’ old spot.

No have not seen a picture of Cherry ...if he’s 280 that’s another story ...but he’s listed at 264 ...this need to be confirmed

Jacob Phillips vs Patrick Queen
I don’t understand this at all ...Jacob Phillips played really well last season.... he should not lose his starting job because he had surgery in the offseason....I saw the spring game ...Patrick Queen doesn’t exactly jump out at you on the screen

Players change and also progress at different rates. Tyler Taylor played in all 13 games starting five including the first game of the season in his and Phillips freshmen year. Phillips played in 12 games with no starts. Jacob was ahead of Tyler by the start of season 2.

Eaux said it was going to be like USC. You compete every day for your job. If you don't perform and put in the effort and the next guy does, HE STARTS, not you.
