Rich Paul fricked AD out of $104m... Don’t worry, though - Rich Paul makes $0 out of AD’s contracts, he only makes his money off AD’s endorsements.

Is this true? If it is, then AD is a bigger moron than I thought. It good to tie your salary with the agents—he’ll work harder. His agent had no incentive at all to get him a better contract.

Depends on how you look at it.

He cost AD $4m straight up in a trade kicker by convincing him it could be made up in endorsements, which RP gets a cut of. RP wouldn’t have gotten shite from that kicker.

The $100m is the difference between the deal he likely gets this coming offseason and the Supermax extension he was eligible for with the Pels.

I don’t necessarily blame Paul for this one because AD’s dumb arse seemed convinced he wanted out, he just wanted Rich Paul to play bad guy to pull it off.

He could represent himself and still get the maximum amount of money.

Most agents don't take any money from NBA contracts for the big time stars. They do take a larger than standard cut for endorsement deals though.
