Socialism needs a wealthy group to strip so they look successful for a little while.

As Andrew Wilkow has said, socialism is for the people, NOT the socialist.

Can any one of you explain how any specific policy or plan from any of the current democratic presidential candidates actually meets the definition of socialism?

Judging by the posts in this thread you're going to need to get your dictionaries out and look it up before responding.

Should we pull out our government supplied dictionary to make sure you don't get your feelings hurt more?

It's my understanding that there is a way for Cubans to be able to play in the U.S. and remain in good graces with the Cuban government.

that's not what is being said. socialists are trying to strip away liberties - the founding principle of the country. the very thing that gives you the "right" to voice an opinion. so, instead of trying to take away other people's liberties, why don't you just move to a country where everyone has had their liberty stripped away.

because it's not about that. libs need to make everyone SUFFER

I love my country as much as you do
have you heard ANYTHING from the left over the last 2 decades? they HATE this country. our previous president sat at the feet of a person who preached "god d*** america"

quote:

I accept that there is always going to be differences of opinion in this country
that's not what the left is saying. you can disagree as long as you agree with the left.

quote:

I’ve seen government run programs save lives
but at what cost? off the backs of people who are actually paying taxes and paying into the system. socialism wants to provide for people by using the resources of people who didn't agree to have their resources taken. the last dem presidential debate was one long diatribe about social jealousy.

forgive college tuition - paid for by tax payers.
federally funded abortion clinics - paid for by tax payers.
single payer healthcare - paid for by tax payers
tuition free college - paid for by tax payers
federal environmental programs - paid for by tax payers
govt sponsored child care - paid for by top 1% of tax payers
hatred of capitalist corporations

textbook examples of socialism - state owned industries and services funded by tax payers

you're welcome

I'm sorry to have to inform you of this but not a single one of those fits into the definition of socialism. Please educate yourself and try harder next time. Your willfully ignorant fear/hate is disturbing.

This country was built off market base solutions to peoples problems and the inability for the government to take away recognized human rights.

You suggest Non-market based solutions to peoples problems. This is antithetical to what this country is at its core.

This begs the question. Why do you love this country? because you were born here?

even the socialist-like Dem presidential candidates acknowledge that those are socialist programs. I even left an explanation as to how - they are resources controlled by the state, funded by tax payers. Textbook socialism. The only distinction within socialism is whether or not they are democratically controlled or unilaterally controlled by the government.

We can turn the question around. Do you know of any dem presidential candidate who says any of those, single payer for example, is not socialist? I didn't think so

I've often wondered the same thing myself. Many have come to our country fleeing tyranny, poverty, and injustice, so it would make sense for people who feel this country is tyrannical, poverty-stricken, and unjust to move away to a place more of their liking.

I sure wish the hell they would or if not that we need to split into two country's. I don't want to coexist or be anywhere around the demented fricks. If anyone has them living in your neighborhood always be on the lookout.....

If you leave your wallet unattended they will steal it.

If you leave your kids unattended they will molest them

God forbid you have a newborn in your home, they would try to kill it.

Progressives are not the kind of people you can reason or coexist with because they are stark, staring insane and a danger to any decent people around them.

We need to be rid of them. By any means necessary

If it ever came to that point here they would be the first ones eliminated or locked up. They would be considered weak and unruly for supporting it and cast aside like trash after being used. Poor bastards are too stupid to realize this.

What? The real socialists are alphas using beta socialists to seize power?
