Doing a partial kitchen remodel and expansion on the weekends which includes building new cabinets but also using existing cabinets. I am hoping to not have to reface existing cabinets, but only refinish and change from partial to full overlay doors. I am having a hard time finding European hinge that can accommodate the current 2” stiles on existing faces. 1 1/2” is biggest I have found on barker door site.

I don’t have a lot of experience with euro hinges so I could be wrong but I don’t think the stile width matters. Well unless the stile is too narrow to accommodate the cup.

You mean the face frame is 2” or the door stiles?

Blum will make a hinge that can cover that, but you’d likely need to drill (or have drilled) the cup hole in a certain spot to accommodate the overlay.

I know a lot of shops use Morgan Brothers for their doors if you’re ordering them.

For the hinges and slides themselves, I used Rok or Cornerstone (Cabinethardware.com).

Yes the frames where doors are hung are 2”. I am hoping to use a concealed, soft close hing. I’ll check out the website thanks

I’m a fan of Blum and Blumotion hinges and drawer hinges; check their website to see if they carry a hinge for full overlay hinges (that will cover the entire 2” face frame). If not, partial coverage overlay doors will look fine. Blum items are very available—I’ve gotten best price on them for more popular items from eBay sellers.

Can you take a picture of the issue. The faceframe shouldn't affect anything. For an overlay door, the plate screws to the inside edge of the faceframe, the only difference is that a full overlay plate is thinner than a half overlay, if I recall correctly.

It depends on what overlay you’re looking for. A “full” overlay is more of a style, not a dimension.

Do the doors close on a center stile? Do you have doors back to back? All that can vary your overlay dimension, and hence your plate dimension and your cup drilling pattern. Blum has a table for each of their hinges detailing all the relevant dimensions for the overlay required.

For example, a 2” face frame with doors on each side (hinge side to hinge side), the overlay of each door is 15/16” (each door + 1/8” gap). If you have an outside stile that you want the same overlay, you’d need a 1-7/8” overlay.

Yeah you kinda painted yourself into a corner with the 2" inch stiles. I typically go 2 3/8". However, I'm sure Blum manufactures something that will accommodate you.

Just a follow up, I purchased the blue blumotion 21” drawer slides for $26 a set on Amazon on Monday. Cheapest price I had seen yet. Also have the hinge issue figured out. I’ll post pics in the woodworking project thread if and when I every finish.
