I don't think there's much of a chance that he'll switch, but he'll likely get a call regardless if he keeps starting for Ajax.

He'll likely get a call from the Dutch too if that's the case.

That's fine. He'll then have a decision to make. It always sounds like he's enjoying being in our program, he's close to many of the players, and Mendez just joined him. I don't have a lot of concern that he will switch, but it would be foolish of him to close any doors before he has to.
But if he just accepts whichever call up comes first, then he was never that invested to begin with.

Conversely, he was never invested in the Dutch program either, but whoever he chooses, the program gets the talent and that's all that matters.

YES. I’ve been worried about this since the World Cup, and increasingly so since seeing his performances with Ajax this summer. I think he’s the best fullback within the USMNT system NOW, and if he played on the wings he’d be the second best option behind pulisic. I don’t know if euro players are being called in for this nations league thing but I’d do everything I could to make sure he gets called in immediately if I was greggggg. And if he doesn’t and we lose him #berhalterout.

If Gregg doesn’t call him in for nations league that is grounds for dismissal imo.

We've never had an outside back young talent like him before that can play on either side.
