I am not so sure. If he lost 20 lbs of FAT and put on 10 lbs of muscle...I see that as a much better situation than just losing 10 lbs.

So, "weight" alone isn't enough to judge. But, that weight is a great sign for him.

Terrance Cody was 360-370, and was two inches taller. His weight made him a situational player.

Vince Wilfork played around 325-330 for most of his career. That should be Shelvin’s ideal weight. If he starts getting to 340+, he’s going to continue to have problems.

ETA: Saying a big man who’s had weight issues throughout his entire life has to maintain a good playing weight throughout the season isn’t some profound declaration. It’s pretty much common sense.

340 pounds is right at the threshold of what is a good playing weight for him. LSU really needs him to put in 25-30 quality snaps per game, and that’s a minimum.
