I did an internship and course credit at a university with a decent university course.

The university closed it - Now the current administration wishes they had the golf course - and had invested in the past to keep it a quality area for golfers.

Would need to know a lot more about what University that was and the economy and weather of the area it was in. Baton Rouge already has a crap ton of cheap golf available due to BREC plus much of year people are worried about LSU Sports, Hunting and Fishing. Not to mention Hurricanes, Floods, Freezes and general bad weather. Not to mention high paying jobs are not growing in the area.

Golf is a poor investment in Baton Rouge.

The LSU golf team will not even consider playing there...ever.

The golf team playing there isn't an issue. The course could be very profitable. The problem is the land the course is on is extremely valuable.

It's a decision the university has to make. They could have a moderately profitable golf course or more land to expand. Whatever is most valuable to those decision makers is what will happen with the course.
