Can someone explain ESPN+ to me. I lowered my cable package to skeleton package to save $$ and Because I barely watch tv. Would subscribing to + allow me to stream LSU games played on ESPN or SECN? If not, What is the cheapest alternative to watch ESPN?

Thank you for the link but it does not really answer my question. The article doesn’t say if you can stream all games that you would typically be able to stream with espn service.... Or is it just select games that + users can stream?

Espn plus is not Espn or watch Espn. It’s a separate set of items to watch. Do not get if you think you are gonna have Espn, 2, sec, news, u.

The only thing I watch espn is for is college football games, nothing else. Would + do that for me?

No. If you only have ESPN+ and not ESPN, you can't watch shows airing on ESPN, ESPN2, etc...

They’re really screwing the pooch by not offering the whole slate of channels.
They charge cable companies almost $8 to provide their channels. They could charge $15 a month to cable cutters and make a killing.

quote:Well espn is the most expensive thing on a cable package. The gamble in what you're suggesting is that 8/15 of the people that have cable end up subscribing for espn only. That's a decent gamble. They'd rather all the people getting cable to watch oxygen pay $8/month for espn silently.

ESPN+ has some small conference football games, like LA Tech in Conference USA, and small sports like water polo. You can also watch old episodes of 30 For 30 and the like.
It is not a substitute for the main ESPN channels, and you won’t be watching SEC football on it. It is more of a $5 a month supplement for folks who have an interest in a smaller school or odd sport that they carry.

Same here. I'm a Southern Miss fan and I mostly shell out the $5 per month to watch their sports on ESPN+. If I was only a fan of LSU and not interested in schools other than the Big 5 conferences, I'm not sure I'd want to pay for it.
