Kings Head Coach Will Weaver met with Louzada during his time at Summer League and was excited about welcoming him to Sydney.

“Didi’s a very low key guy off the court, who’s very family orientated. He’s already played professionally and starred in the Brazilian league back home, but he doesn’t act like it. He’s got his sights set very high and is focussed on where he wants to go” Weaver said.

“From a playing standpoint he’s very versatile, defensive minded and an excellent shooter. He’s someone that sees the game through the lens of team first, and he really stood out to us during the Hoops Summit for his ability to pressure the American guards”.

“While he was with the Pelicans recently I think his disruption and his ability to create turnovers was something that everyone noticed” Weaver shared.

“I think what excites us most is how he comes in from day one as a defensive difference maker. Like any young player, we’re trying to teach him what professional defence looks like but we can see he already has such a head start over most guys his age, I think mostly because of his mindset” said Weaver.

Louzada will now return home to Brazil where he is committed to National Team duties for the FIBA World Cup, before heading to Sydney to join the team for the NBL pre-season.
