its called permanent ink for a reason, even if you can get it out it will still show the writing as a shadow stain.

anything that will remove the stain will also remove the dye from the table cloth and most likely eat the stitching.

as mentioned, give it back to him as a wedding gift with a note saying his kids will do something like this to him one day
