You guys even see the video of the flag drop? It was a boneheaded mistake not an intentional disrespect
Right because reflexively dropping the flag because it takes a backseat to you doing a prepared number with a teammate is so much better.
A mistake would have it slipping her fingers
She dropped it intentionally. I’ve never heard of an intentional mistake.
The most you can say is that she was unaware of the meaning, but at the end of the day it shows her true feelings of it:
The flag is a meaningless prop to her. It’s not even a time/old fart viewpoint either. Note how a teammate fricking sprints across to get it off the ground ASAP.
And given you are defending it, suppose it’s fair to say it’s a meaningless prop to you too.

I mean if we're going to be sticklers for US Flag Code violations, they're around us every day. And nobody has said anything about the players draping themselves in the flag and running around the field. That's a violation. And why isn't that pointed out? Because plenty of people they agree with do it. Your neighbor leaving a flag outside at night with no light shining on it? Violation. Clothing adorned with the elements of the flag? Violation. Carrying the flag flat as they do at many big sporting events? Violation.
Sorry if I'm not going to lose my mind over someone dropping the flag on the ground in a moment of celebration.
