You are using Stranger Things (the biggest show) as an example. That's like HBO saying their whole model is fine because of Game of Thrones, yet we know a ton of shows like the Brink for example that didnt even get a season 2.

You cant pick the biggest show as the example of the entire model working.

If anything more successful shows get away with inconsistent release dates.

The difference between netflix and a real network like HBO is that netflix doesn't have to worry about filling a limited number of time slots. HBO or some other channel basically only has 7-10pm to showcase their shows. Netflix can have all the shows they want and if its a netflix production they can keep it up as long as they want. HBO doesn't have the time to keep a failing show on air forever. A netflix show can get popular over time by word of mouth.
