Don't put shite in quotes that is not exactly what Orgeron said.

I just listened to it 4 times a few minutes ago.

Orgeron also said he won't look at the new kicker until August because of NCAA rules - and held off until August last season with Cole for the same reason.

Orgeron's exact words were, "He's the head coach down there". Then a few sentences later said, ... He's the Head Coach..."

Meaning that S&C coaches have full control of the team during offseason S&C workouts - and this is to accommodate strict NCAA rules.

I even said that I believe that's what he said. Just to be nice, I went to look it up on the OTB on demand page. One of the quotes was “He’s a head coach down there. Those guys are going to be in shape. They’re not going to be overtrained. They move weight and they get stronger.” He must have mentioned the staff in a different quote. I'm not going to listen to the whole thing again to find out. Feel free to add in whatever you like, champ.

Are you saying O can’t tell Moffit how to do anything?

That’s like saying the analyst can’t “coach”

Sure. But they can talk to the coaches

And O sure as frick can tell a Moffit to let the players catch balls whenever they want

He can tell Moffitt anything he wants. But if he doesn't want to get slapped with a serious NCAA violation, he likely errs on the side of safety, and lets Moffitt run the show.

Years ago, HCs got way out of control with offseason workouts, and the NCAA stepped in with strict rules and harsh penalties. IMO. it was one of the better moves the NCAA has ever made.

You’re on a message board where moffit is generally a polarizing figure and there is no one here agreeing with you. that’s pretty sad

Even if that's true, what would be the reasoning for Orgeron not to have told him to provide more access during the '16, '17 or '18 season?

Absurd.

My take is spot on. The fact that your O-Basher crew is pathetically clueless about how NCAA rules totally change offseason coaching authority has ever-so-slightly bruised their fragile little egos... and it has them all in a tizzy.

If any of them had ever played ball at the college level, they'd know that this is an elementary aspect of the offseason system.

No one agrees with you on this. Not one person. Even the biggest O supporters don't agree. But, please keep making this about hating or bashing Orgeron. It's hilarious.

Orgeron has been a part of this program for quite a while now. He knows exactly how Moffitt runs the off-season program. If he didn't like it, Moffitt wouldn't be here still. You don't even get that if you're bashing Moffitt then you're bashing Orgeron too for this.

Let's pretend that we live in a world where Orgeron has to have TOTAL RADIO SILENCE with Moffit during the off season for arguments sake...would that preclude him from setting VERY STRICT orders for how things are to be run before summer starts and expectations that upon his return from Narnia he'd be checking to make sure they were done as he'd ordered?

Our tourist seems to suggest that Moffit is running around playing HC during the summer unchecked, and even so is beyond accountability upon Orgeron's return.

How else can you then conclude that Moffit is not doing the right things and yet Orgeron keeps him in place?

WoW! Now you speak for EVERYONE?? All 7.5 billion of us?

Not just the dozen or so Bashers in your lock-step group-think fanboy club?

You are being ridiculous.

Exactly and you won't get a response on this because it backs him into a corner. It's just more misdirection with calling people O bashers and completely ignoring this part of the equation. Orgeron spoke glowingly about Moffitt yesterday morning.

This is honestly mind blowing. How anyone could possibly think the HC has no input in the offseason program run by the S&C coach is insane.

So you’re saying it would be a violation for O to tell Moffit “we’re running a fast pace offense, make sure they’re conditioned”

Or “open the jugg room for the WRs”
