I think this is the most likely scenario given the details. Something she needs medical attention for soon but not a true emergency where a helicopter with trained medical professional was needed. It also makes more sense that is why the other girls joined them. Because dad was pissed.

Some situation that was somewhere in between not waiting until the morning and calling a medical flight.

I also don't know the situation, they were not in the USA. They may have had limited options to get them to a hospital in the USA immediately? It may be possible the American options wouldn't go to the bahamas and the Bahama options wouldn't fly her to the USA?

Something like a drug OD the last thing I'd want is two other 20 year olds on the helicopter for 60 minutes freaking out about their friend.
