Chris Curry did not impress me at all last year.
He got a bit of a raw deal last year. Most of his early carries were blown up in the backfield before he ever had a chance, and I think the oaches were just more comfortable with a 4 year veteran Senior who knew the playbook inside-out, and the second year CEH who might be the strongest player pound for pound on the team. I think some people look at Curry's stat line and just think he sucked. But the tape shows that of his 8 attempts, at least half were the o-line just failing miserably with their assignments. I doubt the coaches are judging him this year purely by what happened last year. He had 15 carries for 72 yards and a pair of TDs in the spring game. With that many snaps, I'm sure they are expecting him to play a good bit in 2019.

He played against a bunch of small schools in high school. shite competition made him look great (which he still could become at LSU). Basically, he was used to running over people in high school, so he never really had to worry about making that first cut. Last year, he got blown up in the hole because other teams knew that when he was in the game, their linebackers could play downhill.
TLDR - His gameday performance was simple to defend against, and he didn't have the ability to overcome that (at least not yet).
