The first couple minutes were good IMO. If the cops thought they had room to back away before shooting to give the situation a chance to deescalate, that's exactly what I'd want from police. While I know it's not always an option, I think that is far better for the theoretical role of law enforcement, public trust, etc. than "I stand where I am and if you appear to flinch you die" that we've seen in some of the most disputed shoots.
The end was a blunder, but thankfully it wasn't worse.

2 cops, 1 perp. 1 taser to the forehead, 1 taser to the dick. Perp gets subdued and lives to stab another day. Everyone wins.
