If the Lakers are smart they can spread this out on guys that are legit role players. They have 2 superstars. It would be better for them to get a guy like Brogdon over someone like Kemba or Russell, and still have money to spend. Maybe that ends up being what they do, and in that case yeah I’d say that’s a great move and they should be favorites for a title. It’s seems like they are all in on 3 max guys, though.

A roster of AD, Bron, (Butler, Kemba, Kyrie, Tobias, or whoever) + guys like JR Smith, Korver, KCP, is one injury away from being a potential disaster. AD is fragile as is and Bron is aging. Seems like having depth and a clear pecking order would be a wise move to me.

What was he right about? Dude is a tard 90% of the time on here and has terrible takes
AD playing for LAL next season
AD being in Space Jam 2
AD waiving the trade kicker
LAL getting to $32MM

What did y’all school him on during this process?

They had a path to a max slot, everyone knows this.

They had to take out their entire roster to get 3 max guys, overrated Kuzma and trash cans for depth.

Pelinka is still shite at his job and the Lakers front office is a circus. Nothing has changed.
Pelinka was shite before this all started. It’s cringey that y’all keep using that as some gotcha to save face. Everyone knows the guy sucks.

Kuz as a 4th option isn’t the worst thing ever. And a deeper team with Kuz as the 3rd option behind AD and Lebron isn’t the worst thing ever.

Again you’re trying to take weird W’s.

frick y’all are cringey.

Even if they do it the way you're saying, an injury from AD or Lebron still takes them out of championship contention, because a team with just Lebron or just AD and role players isn't winning the West.

AD playing for LAL next season

Was always a possibility if they met the required price, which was substantial. And they did. It was always going to be either LA or Boston (if Kyrie weren’t such a weirdo they likely get him) with a slim outside chance of some random team like the Clippers. AD wanting LA was the best thing to ever happen to New Orleans fans. It got us Zion, a far more competent front office than the Lakers, and LA gave up the most for a star player in league history. He went to LA, it cost every asset they had. Cool.

Wow. What a call.

Not that surprising. He is an impressionable person. Whatever Lebron tells AD to do he’ll do.

Was always a clear path to this. It’s not some W.

You’re practically sucking Mr Perfects dick in here. You have a clear bias toward anything that could potentially benefit Lebron in your mind, it shows. All the Laker and Bron fanboys are giddy and acting as though this is some huge win and are playing the gotcha game. I’m keeping the receipts, too, we’ll see how this all plays out.

Lebron + Brogdon or (insert any other B-B+ level free agent that is a good fit), Pat Bev, Kuzma, and non D to F level depth will always be competitive. And they’d be able to “load management” Lebron.

If they get Kawhi, yeah it’s obviously worth the risk. Anyone else, better off spreading that over various players than can contribute at a high level. Otherwise you have only a handful of dependable guys that will have to play big minutes to win because the rest of the roster is gutter trash, and you’re an injury away from your season going down the drain.

Yes. the pelican posters on here were totally understanding on how clear the lakers path was and were totally calm and understanding on the topic itself over the last two weeks

I hated the fit of Ingram next to Zion, still do. Unless they land a big that can stretch the floor we have the worst spacing in the league. Lonzo I do feel can be a great fit if he can stay healthy. The assortment of picks is what I like about the trade. People assume these will be late 20s even though they are years from now, but they can be used in deals to land another star with Zion if they wish to do so. They’ll be in the trade discussion for any struggling team with a star on the way out and looking to get assets. That’s what makes it an appealing deal

Majority of Laker fans say every year they are getting whatever superstar they want. Not referring to you here, but Lakers have one of the largest sports fanbases in the world and are a loud and entitled bunch. Collectively it’s in the top 2-3 for lowest IQ sports fans. We heard for months that New Orleans has no leverage and AD would be had for peanuts. That didn’t happen. “should have taken the deal when they offered Kuzma at the deadline! It was a better deal” Mr Perfect keeps repeating on here, which is beyond stupid for various reasons. But nah, Pelican fans are the dummies here. Laker and Bron fanboys always bring the rational and smart takes.

or maybe, just maybe, they have been just as dumb as laker fans have been and that is totally normal and fine due to the fact that fans are biased?

It turns out Pelinka knew what he was doing all along. It is almost like he has been a successful NBA agent for many years and knows the basics of the cap. Just like I said when the trade was first announced. Let the haters hate.

Lakers "fans" don't understand this. They are caught up in the glitz and glam. One of AD's trademark shoulder injuries and they're in worse shape then they were last year. It makes no sense.

LoLaker's fans acting like they weren't freaking out when they realized the cap issue during the original trade is hilarious.

LOL. Guess who said this:

quote:

-there is no way in frick all that he will be traded directly to the Lakers. None. Zero. No package they will be able to put together will never be as good as what Boston can offer or what the team that gets the number one pick can offer.

-I still challenge any of you weak Laker fricks to a ban bet that he will not be directly traded to the Lakers. None of you pussies have the balls.

-I WILL STILL FIGHT ALL OF YOU LAKER frickS IN THE STREET.
