I don’t get the PGA’s love for Harding Park. It’s good for a city owned course, but it should be considering the money they sink in to it. Just within 2-3 miles of it, Olympic, SF GC, and Cal Club are all much better tracks.
Olympic will be hosting a PGA. Cal Club and SFGC don’t have the infrastructure, and the membership doesn’t want an event at their course. It took a long time for Lake Merced to agree to an LPGA event after being asked for years

Harding Park doesn’t really have the infrastructure either. It’s a bit of a cluster when they host events.
It came off that way, but I wasn’t suggesting SF GC or Cal club host a PGA event, merely pointing out that Harding Park is overshadowed by several other far better courses just within a small radius. If it wasn’t a TPC course, it wouldn’t host these events.
