I don’t expect him to sign here long term, but the scenario in which it would make sense to trade Correa is so incredibly unlikely to arise. They aren’t dealing him for prospects and effectively making their major league roster worse while they have a window for contention open. Maybe at the deadline before he’s a FA if they’re out of contention.

So you have to have a scenario where another team is so deep at the ML level at an Astros position of need and also needs a shortstop, and is willing to trade from the ML roster at that position.
