I worked my regular job and a bartending job for 20 months to accelerate paying off my student loans, and then I worked my regular job, a part time bartending job, and drove for Uber for 6 months to finish paying off my student loans. A little over $95k paid off, all by myself, with no help 26 months of busting my arse to pay off my student loans. What about people like me, Bernie?
I guess the country will have to pay student loan reparations right after slave reparations and gay marriage tax rebates?

Unfortunately Bernie or any of the progressive left doesn't give a crap about people like you. They absolutely loathe the idea of a hard working self sufficient person because they can neither bribe or pander for your vote.

Curious of this as well. Also, curious of the job landed out of college that allowed him to make monthly payments of $3,900+. Because if he paid 95k off in 26 months with no help, as he claims, that is the minimum he would have had to come up with to pay it down in that time.

F5? Neeeeever.
I’ll say I paid mine off and the idea of forgiveness doesn’t get me super jealous. More power to someone getting a huge opportunity. I don’t want to finance it though.
I think that morehouse thread really opened my eyes to how many were more jealous than principled in their stance on this. Even a generous private donor wiping out the debt upset quite a few.

Sounds odd to me as well.

I paid $180,000 , and that’s after tax money when you pay it back. I’d be pissed if it happens, but I doubt we ever see it....

Never had a student loan. Worked full time during college to avoid them. Didn't experience the college life that most enjoy, but I didn't owe a penny when I finished.

I have every confidence in the Federal government to frick over people who act responsibly and pay their own way.
It's how our government operates, consistently.
I paid off my student loans a few years ago.
I expect them to frick me.

I paid the minimums each month on income based repayment for a few years until I started making enough money to really be able to put a dent in it. Then I went all in.

I did what any true American would have done. I defaulted on my loans betting on the government's incompetence. After a few notices I stopped hearing from them.
