Low margins and $5 footlongs are forced upon the franchisee resulting in poorer service and dirtier shops to make up for the losses. At least that's what I understand. The franchisee has to honor those corporate bargains or face penalties.

they don't do $5 footlongs anymore. there used to be one right next to my office so i went pretty regularly and regretted it every single time.
