I was in a working band back in the 90s.
We played at GA tech during freaknik, because the GT kids didn’t want to leave campus. Our truck broke down downtown after our show.
It sucked to be in that mess at 3:00 AM.

Those were some interesting years in the early to mid 1990’s. I can remember the local news did pretty much 24/7 coverage the weekend if Freaknik. There was lots to cover shootings, looting (I remember Lenox had to close at like 4:00 because people were stealing so much they just shut the whole mall down )
rapes etc. it was better than any episode of Live PD today.

I'd like to go see uncle luke.. He is a legend.
Bun B. I see Trina will be there. Where is Trick Daddy? Da Brat will be there..
I see they are trying to attract an age group of 35 & up.

That is a good question and I have not the slightest.

I was going to give you a basic explanation, but since the internet is such a glorious place, there's an entire wiki page dedicated to the Freaknik.

Outcast and Luda should be there.

I bet this part was a hit

They no longer allow cruising down Roswell and Piedmont road like they did in the 90’s. Atlanta and Buckhead have changed a lot since then. To me the city peaked with the ‘96 Olympic Games. Their economy was growing at a sick pace in the 90’s.

Outcast
Put some respek on OutKast name, baw.
I think they're beefing or something. Big Boi and Andre3000 haven't performed together in years.
Andre doesn't even perform anymore period. Sucks because he's one of the best lyricists ever.

I’d feel safer in the Dominican than going to that but nasty lineup. Sums up my high school years
