Horror has been one of the best genres in film over the last 10-15 years or so. Just tons of stuff out there. Since 2000 is a long time, haha
Best FILM is probably Let the Right One In or 28 Days Later
Best Traditional Horror - The Descent or The Strangers. Autopsy of Jane Done. Or even The Conjuring.
Scariest is probably Insidious, Hereditary, or The Ring. Maybe Session 9 or It Follows
I'd add Train to Busan and Green Room to this list, but that covers it pretty well. The best low budget horror is They Look Like People, which will haunt me forever. Lots of critics like [Rec] though I'm not as sold.
Audition misses the cut by one year, but needs a mention anyway.
We really are in a golden age of horror, and I'm so pumped for it.

Is really fantastic. Even The Host was post-2000. Ugh, so many movies.

Green Room
Solid add.

It took me two watches for some reason, but yeah I loved that movie.

You and me both. It was good, not great.
