It's a lose/lose.
By their logic, plastic can be ingested by animals. Paper causes them to have to cut down more trees.
They'd rather the population be happily drinking our own piss from broken Mason jars.

I thought the same thing earlier this week when I was given a prepared box lunch that had a wooden fork, a wooden spoon, and a wooden knife.
