I was just making a point dude. This kid isn't batting under .200 either. He's not even on campus yet.

Way back in the day, .200 was called "The Mendoza Line". Named after Mario Mendoza, an excellent defensive shortstop who hovered ared .200 for several years (He ultimately ended up with a.215 MLB career batting average). The theory is that .200 is the lowest BA that a player can expect to keep him in the majors.
Effectively, if you hit below .200 you're superior defense doesn't offset the offensive production you get from an average defense/average hitting player at the same position.
