Apparently RP has just released a statement saying that AD will be a free agent in 2020 regardless of where he goes.
Seems to be a confirmation that the Lakers’ package is not what they thought it was.

Unless the other packages are just horrendous, I am here. We have to do what's best for our team, but I think part of that is keeping a good player out of the west and standing up for ourselves.
If the Lakers want him, they will have to give every pick in either a swap or unprotected for the next decade.
If they won't ship him to whomever has the next best offer.

My conspiracy theory is that Silver gave us Zion on the condition we not trade AD to LA.
He obviously has to do something to reel that jackass RP in. Maybe that’s the under-the-table deal in place to send a message to players that they don’t get to dictate trade destinations.
