The true economic divide in this country is between livable cities with educated workforces and cities that have failed to adapt. Southern cities like Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Birmingham, and Jacksonville have strong economies that are getting stronger.
**Washington D.C. should probably also count as "Southern," but I'm guessing the article doesn't include it.
