This is what I would suggest.

The areas around the park are sketchy but you'll just be driving through. Like any city in the south there are a plethora of sketchy areas, but none of them rise to the level of really needing to worry about it.

I'd stay in Vinings or Cumberland. Nothing to the west of 285 is good. Again, you won't die, they're just dumpy areas.
