Being that they aren't very popular you can usually find some steals, best I've found was some $600 Shimano Antares reels marked down to $99 at Academy.

I honestly don't understand how they aren't more popular, most people start out casting right/reeling left with spinning gear so when I picked up a right handed baitcaster I was a mess. Lefty handed just flowed right along. The few friends I've convinced to try left handed reels have all said it wasn't as weird a transition as expected.

That's the kind of thing I was thinking about. I remember that being posted here. Every time I go to Acad, I am on the lookout for something like this.
